How Live-In Care Works

We assign live-in caregivers based on the individual needs and personalities of our patients. Live-ins provide consistent, personal levels of care, and they follow plans developed by case workers or physicians to deliver the best possible treatment. When you contact Home and Hospital Medical Personnel, we work with you to find the most suitable live-in caregiver. We select staff members with the necessary skills and qualifications to meet your needs, and you choose the certified home health aide who makes you and your loved one the most comfortable.

Types of Care Provided

All of our live-ins are licensed, insured, bonded, and properly trained to handle their specific job requirements. They provide a variety of home health care services, ranging from assistance with daily tasks to nursing services. Your live-in caregiver may provide:

  • Assistance with personal care, such as help bathing, dressing, or using the bathroom
  • Help with daily activities, including grocery shopping, meal preparation, medication reminders, and light housekeeping
  • Companionship and transportation to medical appointments
  • Assistance with exercise sessions
  • Respite care
  • Skilled nursing services, on par with the level of care provided by assisted-living facilities

Do You or Your Loved One Need a Live-In Caregiver?

Live-in care is an excellent short-term solution when family caregivers need a break or to assist with recovery after a major surgery. Live-in care also makes it easy to bring home nurse-dependent newborns or children with serious conditions. When long-term assisted living arrangements become a necessity, the signs are often subtle. Watch for these common indicators:

  • Frequent falls or accidents. An increasing number of falls or accidents could be life-threatening for an individual who lives alone.
  • Neglected chores. Abnormal housekeeping or neglected home maintenance tasks may indicate a decline in physical or mental abilities.
  • Changes in social behavior. A decline in active friendships, social activities, and hobbies often has a negative impact on health and happiness, and it may signify a deeper underlying problem.
  • A poorly stocked kitchen. Normal daily activities, such as shopping and meal preparations, are musts for independent living. Check expiration dates, and stay alert to unusual combinations of ingredients. Also, monitor the kitchen for signs of fire or accidents.
  • Physical changes. Weight loss, weight gain, and changes in hygiene are common signs that a person may need a live-in caregiver. These changes could indicate cognitive or physical decline, and may worsen existing health conditions.

Live-In Dementia Care

Mental decline and memory loss often necessitate assisted living. Live-in care allows patients with dementia to receive the quality care and attention they deserve without leaving their comforting and familiar home environments. Our live-ins have experience with all stages and types of dementia, and we're continuously there for you and your loved one.
